CMD-Kenya released the 2024 annual report, highlighting our journey, achievements, and the impact of our work in strengthening democratic governance, fostering political accountability, and enhancing citizen participation in Kenya. In 2024 transformative interventions were implemented, in line with our values of meaningful and inclusive Participation; Accountability to member parties, partners, and society; Results-based programming; Tolerance within political parties, institutions, and society, and Youth-centric in thought and action, through which we continue to play a pivotal role in shaping Kenya’s democratic landscape.
The issue recounts our diverse capacity building initiatives, leadership training, strategic planning support, and policy dialogues, through which we supported political parties’ internal democracy, policy development, and sustainable leadership structures. We launched initiatives, leveraging digital platforms, social media campaigns, and interactive dialogues to amplify the voices of underrepresented communities and demographics, making democracy more accessible and participatory. We made significant efforts in mainstreaming the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) within party policies, enhancing political discourse that is focused on development and social justice. Through advocacy, training, and targeted interventions, we reinforced the importance of diversity and inclusion in Kenya’s democratic spaces, actively championing gender equality, youth participation, and representation of marginalized groups in political processes.
